Pushing - Judith Lasater

Pushing is a sign you believe you are not enough.

~Judith Hanson Lasater

A friend of mine posted this week’s quote on Facebook recently and I’ve been holding onto it ever since. There is actually a bit more to it that I also want to share.

Sometimes we have to dance in the moonlight naked and eat a brownie for breakfast. The most important mantra for Life: Trust Yourself First.

Trust myself first.

This seems a simple enough mantra. But oh how I struggle with it. Especially this time of year.

Everywhere I turn there are images of what I should be doing and feeling during the holidays:

  • a perfectly trimmed tree
  • kids in darling outfits posed with Santa
  • a large tray of intricately decorated cookies to share with friends
  • a warm, loving and supportive family gathered around a large table sharing a meal.

Are you pushing to be some of what you see?

Let go. Do what is right for you and your family. Know that you are enough. Believe that your holidays are right for you.

Trust yourself first.
