Sometimes you just have to take your own advice

Last week was a very busy week for me. The 2nd Issue of Sparrow Magazine hit the web on December 1. Additionally, I had an article published in the Winter Edition of Rhythm of the Home. My article, A Recipe for Reconnecting, is all about slowing down and taking time to connect with your partner. This message is especially important during the busy month of December. I hope that you will read my article and try out a night of reconnecting.

The idea of slowing down and savoring the holidays is really at the forefront of my mind this year. It is so easy to get swept up in all the to-do lists, the shopping, the baking, the parties. Suddenly, a time that is supposed to be about enjoying the season, about being with family and friends, can turn into a whirl-wind of excess.

I actually have been working on a more in depth article about this very topic. My original plan was to finish it up and publish it tonight. But instead, I’ve decided to head my own advice, and  s  – l – o – w   d – o – w – n. I’m going to close my computer, enjoy another one of the chocolate chip cookies I made this afternoon, chat with my husbad and read some of the novel I just started. Sometimes it’s just so much better to listen to what you really need.
