The Fulfilling Life Interviews — Shannon Kinney-Duh

February 7, 2013 3 Comments

I first was introduced to Shannon Kinney-Duh and her e-course Inside Out: A Creative Adventure in Self Discovery in January of 2010. This was a difficult time in a my life. I was living in a new city and suffering from the complicated mix of post-partum hormones and 9 months of waking up every 2 hours. I was depressed, lonely and felt like I wasn’t even sure who I was anymore.

As soon as I read the description of Shannon’s e-course I knew that it was just what I needed. And I was completely right.

It is difficult to put to words everything that Shannon’s work has brought to my life. What I do know is that I am a better person because of Shannon.

Today it is a great thrill to share my interview with Shannon. After 3 years of friendship it was our first chance to talk face-to-face. I hope you enjoy being a part of our conversation as we discuss fulfillment.

Shannon shares a very simple and powerful practice to ground your day and keep you centered and focused on fulfillment. All it takes is asking yourself these questions as you greet your day:

What do I need from this moment? What do I need from this day?

Tell me, what is it that you need from this moment? What do you need from this day?

I would love to hear. Please, share your answers in the comments. Together, we can support each other in fulfilling our needs for today.

This was wonderful Kelly! I was as well one of the first participants in Shannon’s first e-course so have “known” her since the beginning. I loved seeing the conversation between the two of you and the words spoken from her rang so true. It does seem to boil down to what we need for ourselves, our families, in the moment in order to get to a fulfilled life. All the rest is not important if it is not a true need. I have the questions raised on a piece of paper and will keep them as a reminder for those moments when I feel led astray from what really feeds my path to fulfillment. Wonderful interview!!!
