The Fulfilling Life :: Heather Day

February 20, 2013 8 Comments

I’m so pleased to share my interview with Heather Day with all of you today.

One of the processes of putting together this interview series that I love is the chance to watch all the videos several times, through the editing process and putting together these posts. What is interesting is that often the impression I have of the video after recording it is very different than how the video actually is when I watch it.

After I recorded this interview with Heather I felt incredibly calm and grounded. Heather has that effect when you talk with her. That feeling left me thinking that the video was mellow, and maybe even a bit slow moving.

While Heather does have a beautiful and calming disposition (could it be her icy blue eyes?), the video itself is so jam packed with insights and inspiration I found myself completely and totally engaged, which is admittedly odd to say about an interview that I’m in. And it totally isn’t slow at all.

I know that you will enjoy watching this week’s video and learning from Heather how to move further along your path to fulfillment. Be sure to look below for a great giveaway from Heather.

One of the things I admire in Heather is the way that she is so committed to living her life in a way that is meaningful for her, even when it is super scary (couldn’t you feel the nerves as she described pushing send to enroll in the month long yoga teacher training in Costa Rica?).

Heather put the struggle of making a big decision so simply.

“This is my calling. This is my dharma. This is my path. Why won’t I listen to that?”

We all hear messages like Heather’s. Maybe they aren’t as dramatic as venturing off to Costa Rica for a month to study yoga. But, that doesn’t mean the voices should be ignored.

What messages are you reluctant to listen to? Why are you willing to ignore your calling? Take the time to listen, really listen, to the voices whispering to you. Take a step away from ignoring your calling and towards living the life you are meant to live.

I encourage you to get to know Heather’s work even better, and she has a wonderful opportunity to do so through her new e-course. And, she’s giving away one spot in the e-course to one of you!

That was a wonderful interview Kelly and Heather! A great way to start my weekend! I definitely struggle with letting go of judgements of what I should do/be/look like. I want to find my path, my fulfilling life but am unsure at times where to start or what it should be. I think I worry more about “finding” it then just listening to my inner voice and fully living each day. I want to let go of what others think or feel about my choices and be free to follow what feels right and true to me and my family regardless of what society at large thinks that should be. And definitely I need to work on letting go of fear and letting go of internal and external clutter to make space for what life has to offer. Thank you for your beautiful words and thoughts. A lot of good stuff to ponder.

Mmm. Karen, there’s a saying that if we stop seeking, we shall find- because what we are seeking is already seeking us. Only it’s stated much more eloquently. All we have to do is BE, which is the hardest thing of all 😉 Letting go of internal and external clutter is a great place to start to cultivate the way you’d like every day to feel. Thank you for sharing, sister!

Great interview Kelly and Heather!! I am resisting doing the things I know I need to do that will take me to the next level. It’s fear-based and a form of self-sabotage. I feel like I’m getting closer to breaking through this “upper limit problem” but could really use the insight, guidance, and accountability to help me out!

    • Heather Day says:

Oooh the Upper Limit Problem! Yes. Big, big yes. I hear you. You’ve seen and recognized it- HUGE steps towards a breakthrough. Patience, persistence, and yes- perhaps some guidance and support! Love & encouragement to you, Becky.

great interview kelly and heather!…i can really relate to this, especially trust and that annoying voice inside…ego!! my spirit truly wants to be set free again to experience life as it was meant to be. fear has been my biggest obstacle so far and i believe with the right tools and teachers anything is possible!

    • Heather Day says:

Debbie, you’re so right! Our spirits *crave* freedom and wildness- and we can use fear as our teacher. A wonderful woman once told me that there will be stumbling blocks along the way, many of them in the form of fear. But we don’t have to pick them up and carry them with us… we learn from them, and pass them by. Thank you for sharing!
