Day 1::Solid Beginnings

Day 1 completed with success!

I’m going to do my best to share some of my thoughts and feelings, both physical and emotional, each day during my 30 Days of Yoga. I would love for you to do the same in the comments, or over on my Facebook Page.

Today I enjoyed feeling my feet rooted strongly on my mat and the strength in my body as I held my hands together in prayer position in front of my heart. My practice this morning helped me feel connected to the earth and to myself.

Did you know that September is National Yoga Month? I had no idea, but I think that it is pretty serendipitous. The Yoga Health Foundation has organized one free week of yoga classes in honor of National Yoga Month. Check and see if a studio near you is participating.

    I will be totally honest and share that I sucked some serious wind this morning during my last two “B” Salutations.

    5 A’s and 5 B’s used to be my everyday start to my practice. No thought. No questions. Just roll out the mat and go.

    Today I really had to push through the inertia that wanted to just lie on the bed and think about yoga and then had to push through the “Eh…three B Salutations is enough. So what if you don’t do all 10. Who’s going to know.”

    Happy to say I gently leaned into all that internal resistance and did my full 10.

    Felt great!

      I was totally in the same boat Erin. Sucking wind indeed. I had to modify my last 3 B’s. Tonight I can feel it in my shoulders. The good thing is I have this wonderful happy feeling in my legs, like they did something they liked and want more. So happy I pushed myself to do this, and it is so wonderful to have the beautiful company.

    I started yoga because of Inside Out and all the support you guys provided. Last night I did some late night yoga to celebrate the Blue Moon. I love this idea of spending Sept. focusing on a daily yoga practice. Then I can get away from saying I practice my yoga, once in a Blue Moon. haha =)

      Wonderful Lynnette! I remember how much you wanted to take a class but the hesitation and nervousness you felt. So glad that you took the plunge. I can’t wait to hear how your month of more yoga will be! xoxox
