Clean Food Challenge Day 1 — Full Disclosure

April 2, 2012 0 Comments

I’m an incredibly honest person. Sometimes too honest. But, it is all connected to me living in my own truth and authenticity. Which is a wonderful thing.

Truth. I said I was going to start the Clean Food Challenge April 1. I had every intention of doing so.

Saturday turned into an unexpectedly very busy day, which meant I didn’t get to the grocery to stock up on CFC friendly foods. With an almost equally busy Sunday, I didn’t make it to the grocery until the evening.

Truth. I’m starting the Clean Food Challenge today, April 2.

Not a big deal. One day late. Now I’m  focused and determined to have a wonderful week of clean eating.

Throughout the week I’ll write a bit about what I’m eating, as well as share some recipes. I’ll definitely be including how I feel, what is good and bad, easy and hard about eating this way. The emotions will be there as well.

Truth. Today has been challenging. But I don’t think the CFC has anything to do with it.

I woke up with a pounding headache, the kind where you move and feel your pulse throbbing in the top of your head like your skull is being used as the kick-drum to a very aggressive drummer.

Despite this, I’ve been doing well with the clean eating: breakfast = steel cut oats with cinnamon and maple syrup, lunch = rice cakes with sunbutter (so good!!!) and strawberry preserves (all fruit, no sugar or yucky stuff) and a banana.

This afternoon I’m going to be making some salads and soups to eat all week. Recipes will be shared when I can.

I can feel the ibuprofen finally kicking in. And despite the headache (which is also radiating down my spine. Glad I have a chiropractor appointment already scheduled for tomorrow!) I’m feeling clear and strong.

Truth. Real food always makes me feel clear and strong.

I have had several people email me to say they are joining in the CFC. Share your experiences in the comments below. Let’s all support each other in eating clean!
